 | | Ryk to compete in the Trans Derwent swim
Breakfast presenter Ryk Goddard claims he hasn't swum in deep water in over 20 years. All that is about to change when Ryk embarks on the Trans Derwent Swim this Monday, Regatta day at 10am. Ryk will compete in the 1.5 kilometre swim against 81 trained athletes. Yet Ryk isn't so confident, "I expect to be picked out of the water by a kayak in the middle of the river or after 45 minutes." Keep an eye out for Ryk on Monday, he says he will be "easily recognised as the foolhardy one with no wetsuit floundering at the back surrounded by concerned kayakers".
