Thursday 7 February 2013 You're invited - 'Canberra on air' exhibition opening On Saturday 16 February, 666 together with Canberra Museum and Gallery (CMAG) will launch and present a new exhibition Canberra on air: 60 years of ABC Local Radio. The exhibition will mark the 60th anniversary of ABC Local Radio's first broadcast in Canberra.  Now known as 666 ABC Canberra, the exhibition will display local historic broadcast equipment along with t-shirts, posters, photographs, memorabilia and awards. Please join us for a behind the microphone insight into work and life at 666 ABC Canberra from 2pm to 3pm at CMAG including a performance by the 666 community choir. We have 40 places reserved for 666 listeners. Places are limited. Heywire winners come to Canberra from as far away as Christmas Island, Durham Downs Station (QLD), Taroona (TAS), Arno Bay (SA) and a fishing boat in the Gulf of Carpentaria. It is a highly respected program to which other states in Australia have adopted successfully including 702 ABC Sydney, 612 ABC Brisbane and 720 ABC Perth. Richard Fidler is very pleased to be bringing Conversations to 666 in 2013. He has a soft spot for Canberra, as Canberra was his home when he was a student at the ANU.
