 | | Evenings in 2012 We're sending this newsletter a day early and the reason is that today we made the announcement that Helen Shield is set to take on the role of Evenings Presenter in 2013. Helen arrived in Tasmania just a few months ago to take up the position of Breakfast producer for ABC Northern Tasmania. After stints in places like Outback Queensland and Cambodia, sweltering through 45 degree summers and months of monsoon season, Helen finds the green and pleasant hills of the Apple Isle very welcoming. Radio has been part of Helen's life since 2003. She looks forward to presenting Evenings and says of her new gig, "it's going to be like a community-wide dinner party conversation with anecdotes, meaty discussion, laughs and intimate revelations all tumbling out - with a great soundtrack to boot. >>more about Helen

 | | Music makers of the future We have tickets to give away to two concert events at Hobart's City Hall. It's a chance to win tickets to see the Bright Young Things of the future perform before they embark upon their careers. Now in its seventh year, The Australian International Symphony Institute is a program structured to assist the best young orchestral musicians to move into the world of professional music making. The two weeks of intensive rehearsals, tutorials and concerts are carefully planned to simulate the schedule that would be followed by a professional orchestra. AISOI is closely associated with the University of Tasmania via the Conservatorium of Music. Listen to Mornings tomorrow or Your Afternoon on Tuesday for a chance to win tickets. >> More about AISOI
