Religion and Ethics Report - Is Islamophobia a myth?

ABC Radio National | Wednesday 26 September 2012 5.30pm

Presented by Andrew West
On the Religion and Ethics Report, we explore whether Islamophobia is a myth. The sociologist and expert in Asian Islam, Clive Kessler, argues the term has become a 'moral bludgeon' to silence criticism, even questioning, of some strains of militant Islam, and draws on his 40-year study and experience of Malaysia to warn that liberal Islam is in retreat.
Also, Noel Debien begins a series on 50 years of the Catholic Church since the Second Vatican Council, asking what became of the Council's promise for a more open church.
Repeated Thursdays at 5:30am
