Applications now open - 666 ABC Canberra Saturday Spruce Up

September 27 2012 Well deserved recognition for the consistent efforts of Tim Gavel 666 ABC Canberra Grandstand's Tim Gavel was awarded the 2012 Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA) Chief Minister's Community Media Award on Thursday, September 20, 2012. Tim's excellent level of support for sport in the ACT community was recognised as 'inspiring' including information, news and support for sport at every level. Vice President of the Public Relations Institute of Australia ACT, Gareth Lloyd said "It was great to see Tim get the PRIA Chief Minister's Community Media Award" he said. "The feeling around the tables was this was very well deserved. Tim's work on behalf of 666 ABC Canberra makes a very special contribution to the life of the Canberra community". Worms are the ultimate family pet - you don't have to take them for walks, they eat almost everything you don't and turn it into the most fantastic garden fertiliser. Over the next few weeks, 666 ABC Canberra's Lish Fejer will be presenting 'wiggly worm workshops' at Floriade in the Look'n'Learn marquee. Come and see Lish and Learn how to set up a worm farm and keep these little mulching machines in your own backyard, a great school holiday activity. The 666 Saturday Spruce Up, now proudly in its fifth year is now calling for entries for the 2012 666 Saturday Spruce up, set for December 1, 2012. 666 Saturday Breakfast presenter Greg Bayliss teamed with 666 gardening guru Graham Williams, handyman extraordinaire Greg Spencer and many local volunteers donate their time to do something for the community.
