Police have now released the names of the 20 children and six adults who were killed when a gunman forced his way into the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown yesterday, allegedly armed with three weapons and wearing a bullet-proof vest. The gunman, believed to be 20-year-old Adam Lanza, had earlier killed his mother at their nearby home and is believed to have taken his own life after the school rampage. As tales of bravery emerge in the aftermath of the shooting, US president Barack Obama has announced he will fly to Newtown later on Sunday to meet with families of the victims.
