Tomorrow 11am on ABC1 SHORTCUTS takes a closer look at Prime Ministerial Material. David Marr discusses his recent Quarterly Essay about Tony Abbott with Robert Manne, then former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd talks to Father Frank Brennan on Eureka Street magazine's 21st anniversary.

Wednesday 11am on ABC1 - We'd all be better off if farmers had the right to say NO to miners! The raw nerve at the centre of this IQ2 Debate held in City Recital Hall in Sydney is - is it time to grant farmers new legal entitlements to control access to their land?

Saturday 6.30pm on ABCNEWS24 another enthralling session with The New Yorker team at the Melbourne Writers Festival (MWF). Editorial Director Henry Finder, Investigative Journalist and consummate storyteller David Grann and seasoned Pop Critic Sasha Frere-Jones trace the progression of what might be a mad, ill formed idea through to publication. What makes it through and why? Michelle Griffin, national news editor with The Age convenes this session.

Saturday 10.30pm on ABCNEW24 find out a little more about our host Waleed Aly in a session from MWF called Australia II. The question the panel wrestles with is - do second generation Australians, have a unique perspective on political and social issues, and do such perspectives shift over a lifetime? George Megalogenis, Louise Adler and Waleed each give us a glimpse into their experience swapping anecdotes about family, school and politics. Esther Anatolitis moderates the session.

In case you missed it last Saturday evening - this Sunday at 11.30pm on ABCNEWS24 we are rescreening a no holds barred session from MWF titled Censorship, the Body and Porn. It's a smart discussion with all the panellists (David Marr, Karen Pickering, Jeff Sparrow & Lynne Haultain) trying to fathom what drives the panic in the community about what is deemed pornographic.
