Life Matters with Natasha Mitchell

Today the Life Matters talkback delved into the mid-life crisis. You're no doubt familiar with the stereotypes - the fast cars, the love affairs and increasingly the cosmetic surgery - but what really constitutes a mid life crisis? Hear what our guests and callers had to say: http://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/lifematters/the-challenge-of-the-mid-life-crisis/4331892

On Monday, Natasha chats with the WA author Tim Winton, who has spread his writing wings, penning the play 'Signs of Life'. In an extended interview Natasha and Tim will discuss Signs of Life and Tim's relationship and love of landscape and seascape.

And on Wednesday, are you ready to meditate? Evidence suggests that meditation has a range of health benefits and over the 6 week meditation challenge Life Matters will offer practical tips, discuss the possible health benefits and provide a guide to a variety of meditation practices. If you take up this challenge, we'd love to hear your stories – contact us via abc.net.au/radionational/lifematters or the listener line, 02-8333 1430.

And on Thursday, one of Australia's best-known musical figures, Richard Gill, joins us. His career has taken him from being a music teacher in Sydney's western suburbs to the Music Director of the Victorian Opera, and along the way an involvement with almost every major opera company and orchestra in Australia. He's now penned his memoir; Give Me Excess of It.

That and a lot more coming up next week on Life Matters.
