Former secret society holds open day

Weekends has a busy two days planned. On Saturday Chris is talking to Rob Clarke, the past Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Tasmania, about the former secret society which is throwing open the doors on Sunday. Families are invited to visit and hear about the work that the Masons do with the Masonic Medical Research Foundation. On Sunday, join Chris in Port Arthur as locals and visitors recall a town called Carnarvon. Memories Revisted is a weekend long event celebrating Port Arthur's post convict heritage.

Women's footy, Trans Tasman rugger rivalry and one day cricket

Grandstand brings you the W League , Canberra take on Brisbane Roar at McKellar Park on Saturday. A live stream of all of the action will be available online from 2:00pm (AEDST), with coverage on ABC1 from 5pm. Plus the third round of the A League on Saturday, check the schedule to catch all the action from 5:30pm.  Rugby Union and the All Blacks and the Wallabies go head to head on Saturday night with the All Blacks chasing their 17th straight win. Can the Wallabies prevail or are they just there to make up the numbers? On Tuesday Peter Newlinds will bring you ball by ball coverage of the One Day Cricket , Tasmania versus South Australia,  via the stream, commencing at 1.00pm. He'll also be reporting into programs from across the afternoon and evening.

Local bands vying for a gig at Falls

Your Afternoons is filling the airwaves with live music over the next month. Join Penny as she supports local bands in their quest to feature at the Falls Festival. If you like what you hear, head to the Falls Festival website and vote for your favourite band. They could end up gracing the Festival stage. Listen out for The Lyke Giants on Tuesday and The Lawless Quartet on Friday.

Catch up online - snapping the Aurora

Chasing Southern Lights If you look up into Tasmania's night sky, you may find it alive with vivid colour. The night is lighting up in green and scarlet due to a jump in Aurora Australis events. ABC online producer Damien Larkins has created a slideshow from photos sent in by listeners. The Bureau of Meteorology offers an alert predicting the likelihood of Aurora's occurring: click here to sign up . Damien is still adding to the slideshow and you too can contribute; all you need is a camera, warm clothes and patience!
