Toulouse in Canberra, lunch with Stephanie and The Quiz
Friday 18 January
Toulouse Lautrec: Le Quiz Cryptic
On March 22 one lucky listener and guest will join other ABC radio winners from around the country to attend a private viewing of Toulouse Lautrec: Paris and the Moulin Rouge at the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra. Following the private viewing, HE Mr Stephane Romatet, the French Ambassador, will host a a cocktail function at the French Ambassador's residence for ABC winners. Would you like to be the lucky Tasmanian winner? From next Thursday all program teams will give out 'clues' in Le Quiz Cryptic. The clues will be given out over a week and then you'll have the opportunity to submit your entry. In addition all clues will be published in the newsletter on Friday February 1. So stay tuned and keep reading the newsletter!
Do you have a kitchen garden experience to share? If you do and are prepared to upload it to Damien's Drive blog then you and a guest could join Damin for Lunch with Stephanie Alexander at Pierre's in Launceston on February 8. The event, a prelude to Festivale, is already sold out so we have the last two tickets. Stephanie's Kitchen Garden Association is a great inspiration with young people all around the country loving the chance to learn about food and cooking. Penny Terry broadcasts from the Rocky Cape Tavern on Tuesday
Penny will take Your Afternoon to the Rocky Cape Tavern on Tuesday. She'll find out how the community fared during the bushfire alerts but she also wants to meet the locals and generally 'shoot the breeze.'
Take your time: earlier this week Penny spoke with Dr Rob Gordon, consultant psychologist for the Red Cross Emergency Service. 'Take your time,' is his first piece of advice to those affected by the bushfires. Dr. Gordon has been working with the Victorian Black Saturday bushfire recovery efforts, and asks people to realise that the recovery process is complex and demanding and has a timeline of years. You can hear the audio and read the story in our online piece put together by Penny and Tim Walker.
It's on the radio but if cricket's not your thing...
With the ODIs in full swing you can enjoy every ball with us on the radio and streaming via Grandstand. But if cricket's not your thing you will find regular programming via the stream at abc.net.au/hobart. Your favourite local presenters are back and Richard Fidler has also returned. Tony Delroy is back on deck at the end of January. And if you are on the go you can also listen via the ABC Radio App. Not sure how to download the App? Here's how with ABC Mobile .
Last week our prize was the much sought after red ABC Cap, this week it's.... the red ABC Sack (pictured), just the thing if you are out for a walk or a jog and need to carry your water bottle (next week's prize), keys, mobile phone etc. The question this week is: who is Damien having lunch with on February 8 in Launceston? All correct entries, received by midnight Sunday, will go into the draw and I have five sacks to give away.
