Soil Secrets There's a lot of talk about the tangible benefits of agricultural R &D and why it's critical Australia not only maintains current funding - but increases it. Prue Adams has dug deep into the Grains Research & Development Corporation's programme of soil-related projects and produced an extended report for this week's show. In it she talks to scientists, researchers and farmers about the groundbreaking work that is helping unlock the production potential of Australian farmland.

Henbury Station Kristy O'Brien has been back to Henbury Station to check on progress on an ambitious scheme to convert a working cattle station into Australia's first arid-zone carbon farm. The controversial collaboration between the Commonwealth and RM Williams Agricultural Holdings has hit a snag with the management team quitting the project, and local pastoralists questioning whether the $9 million from Canberra was money well spent.

Outback Cricket The first 'international' of the 2012/13 cricket season has been staged in a most unlikely setting. Kerry Staight travelled to Cawkers Well Station - 140 kilometres north of Broken Hill - for the big match that attracted players and fans from throughout Australia and New Zealand. All the proceeds went to charity and in the finest traditions of cricket, it really didn't matter who won or lost but how they played the game.

Campaign for Wool  Prince Charles has a passion for wool and is in Tasmania visiting a sheep stud owner.

Tuesday 13 November If a nutritionist tells you to eat more fish, do they have any responsibility for the environmental consequences of that recommendation? Some nutritionists say it's about time environmental concerns are included in the updated dietary guidelines but many in the food industry are against the idea.

Wednesday 14 November Australian farmers are used to dealing with climate variability but will this help or hinder their ability to deal with long term climate change?
